We at gibbs work hard to ensure that everything you share through the Service is under your control. We develop all functions with privacy as the first priority. Our business model is based on companies, institutions and interest organizations being able to access what you want, and not the other way around. Our goal is to have such a clear and understandable privacy statement for everyone. 

Explanations of terms used:

• Rental object is a collective term for everything that can be rented and services that can be booked through gibbs.
• Service providers are in this context our partners who supply services that we need.
  
  

  1. Data controller

  gibbs AS is responsible for processing personal data. By using the Service and possibly registering an account on gibbs.no, you accept and give permission for gibbs to process personal data as described in the privacy policy.

  The general rules for processing personal data apply to the entire Service. The general rules mean that gibbs always processes personal data in accordance with current personal data legislation with respect for privacy. All personal data handling rests on a legal basis.

  3. What information is stored and what is it used for?

  3.1 We collect the following personal data about our users: 

  (i) Contact information such as name, address, telephone number, email, (ii) Payment information such as debit or credit card or bank account for payment, (iii) Geographical location such as coordinates, (iv) Order history (v) IP address. 

  3.2 How we use the information:

  (i) Contact information is used to create an account on the Service. (ii) Payment information is used to be able to accept payment for a rental object or to make a payment for a leased rental object. (iii) Geographical position is used to be able to show the rental object closest to you or the closest desired address. (iv) Order history is used to present the history to the user. (v) The IP address is used to create an account with Stripe, which is Gibbs' payment provider.

  3.4 When you visit our service, we use cookies so that you do not have to log in every time you visit our service. This is to give you as a user the best possible user experience.

  4. Our service providers

  Information you provide through the Service may be disclosed to our service providers anonymised. For example Stripe, which handles the payments. All data that is handled in collaboration with the payment is encrypted. Below we have all the service providers we use and the list may be updated in the future. You are encouraged to visit the list to stay updated.

  Net Easy

  Nets Easy is our partner. They handle the payment of the rental amount in connection with the reservation via the Service.

  5. Purpose of the processing

  We process the information in order to carry out our obligations according to agreement with you. We use the information you provide to improve and deliver the Service to you. This is to make it easier for you to use the Service.

  6. Disclosure of information to third parties

  We will not share, sell, transfer or in any other way disclose personal data to others, unless we are legally obliged to do so. In the case of disclosure in connection with an offense etc., the information can be disclosed to the authorities on request.  

  7. Rights of the data subject 

  We process your personal data in accordance with the Personal Data Act and applicable regulations. Please note that you can request access to and transfer of your own personal information, as well as request correction or deletion of information.

  We secure your personal information by both physical and virtual access and access control, as well as by encrypting sensitive parts of the information provided. We have routines and measures at various levels to ensure that unauthorized persons do not gain access to your personal data and that the processing of the data takes place in line with applicable law. The measures include, among other things, regular risk assessments and physical procedures to safeguard information security.
